We are a parish school serving
families in the southern / western
suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA.
Our elementary program, with a philosophy
rooted in gospel values,
includes religion and the basic academic
subjects required by the
Diocese of Pittsburgh and the State of
Pennsylvania. We offer a
faith-centered full course of instruction
emphasizing academic mastery of
basic skills in Preschool through
Eighth Grade.
Our roots go back to 1948 when
the first two Sisters of Mercy arrived, at
the request of the pastor and
parishioners of St. Agatha Parish in
Bridgeville, to open a new
elementary school Saint Agatha Catholic
School.
From the beginning the school faculty has been noted for
their efforts to provide
academic excellence, a willingness to adopt new
teaching methods as well as new
technology, when evidence showed it
would benefit the teaching /
learning process. In 1994 our school
assumed the name of a newly
established Holy Child Parish, Bridgeville,
PA. As Holy
Child Catholic School we will graduate our 50th
eighth year class in June,
2003!
We are accredited by the Middle States
Association of Small Colleges and Schools and we have web pages at www.ces-msa.org.
